Ever since Madonna joined the Kabbalah Center, Jewish mysticism has been getting a heck of a lot more attention than it used to. There are both good and bad aspects to this publicizing effect. The bad first: Coming to mysticism directly from a vacuum in response to an emotional need, people sometimes tend to become obsessed with it, leading to irresponsible decisions, dependence, and insecurity.
On the good side, you have the opposite effect. Learning mysticism could in fact, truly enrich one’s life, if learned cerebrally and with a skeptical mind attempting to cut through to the core of its meaning. Accomplishing this is not exactly simple, and requires much brow-sweating thought and contemplation.
Take, for example, these evil eye earrings. To those who approach mysticism in a vacuum, these earrings represent a vague concept of protection from evil thoughts. They may assume that they aren’t supposed to have evil thoughts when wearing them, or that other people aren’t supposed to have evil thoughts about them. Either way, the assumptions are almost impossible to prove, and if evil thoughts do cross their minds while the earrings are on, they may become crestfallen and deepen their emotional insecurity.
However, these earrings do have power of a certain sort, and to the wearer willing to deepen his thought and contemplate, the power of the earrings only increases with the mental energy invested in them. Meaning this: These earrings represent a certain idea. It is the idea that human thoughts, though they are incorporeal, have a real power.
It is certainly obvious that people can sense the moods and thoughts of others to a certain extent. We are, as a race, at least partially empathic towards others. Not only that, but psychological mirroring occurs naturally, certainly with emotions and even with physical movements. It has been proven that certain bodily functions, especially yawning, are contagious, and when one person yawns in a room, the effect spreads spontaneously.
It is certainly no big stretch to say that negative thoughts function the same way. And when negativity spreads, boy does it spread fast. So for the truly mystical in mind, these earrings serve as a powerful reminder that, just as negativity can spread fast, so can positivity. Those who see the earrings and understand that as well, can receive the message and act accordingly. Potentially, the entire spiritual mood of a room can change because of one piece of jewelry.
Of course, this can happen only for those who understand its true meaning. Obviously, others may look at the earrings and be jealous of you for having something they do not have. Therefore, it may be a critical responsibility of the wearer to teach the true idea to others, in order to make it effective. And the very act of teaching is extremely effective in removing evil thoughts from our fellow man.
If used correctly, Kabbalah Jewelry can be powerful indeed.
