Want to hold a business conference or a virtual family reunion, via the web, but don’t want to have to worry about the crappy quality of your web cam? Check out what’s new from HP. Why, it’s a solution to dinky web camera blues for video conferences, called HP SkyRoom.
HP SkyRoom provides “high-definition video conferencing technology which may support up to four people using rich media content over standard business networks.” While the program does not provide a replacement for high-end conference room equipment, it does however lend itself to people working at personal stations who would like to collaborate more easily on projects.
As of October 1st, Hewlett-Packard began bundling SkyRoom with every workstation that it ships, worldwide. They also began offering SkyRoom as a software download for $149, for PCs which run Windows XP or Vista – or Windows 7.
