Victorian England was always artistically pregnant. The pendulum of time swung as always, and English artists remembered the ancient Classics, the mystique of Rome and especially the truths uncovered by the Italian Renaissance. An age of awakening after wars in France and the American Colonies, created trends of loving your fellowman, trying to eliminate poverty, an appreciation of nature, the Romantic Revolution and fearless pioneering of the aesthetic movement of art, is what leaves us feeling nostalgic for an age passed – but frozen in time on pages and stages and canvases.

…..’twas not during thy life, though methinks I wish I could capture the Victorian energy in a box. Perhaps thou can relate.

Well, dear shoppers, now we can, thanks to artist Michal David. She has created a stunning Victorian Lady Jewelry Box. The box is made of wood and has a print of a mysterious and beautiful Victorian woman. Who is she? Royalty? A member of the elite who has commissioned some London artist to capture her essence?

The jewelry box is decorated with inlaid Swarovski and Preciosa crystals. The edges of the box are accented by gold coloring.

Each box is unique, hand-crafted and signed by Michal David. The dimensions are 12x7x5 inches (width x length x height).

Based in Rishon LeZion, Israel, Michal works from her own studio creating classical, romantic and Victorian artifacts. She utilizes crushed marble and aged wood to painstakingly create detailed pieces with Austrian Swarovski crystals, Preciosa crystals and a variety of unique acrylic colors. She uses a unique painting process, decoration and application for the antique textures of her creations.
