What do you know about breast cancer? Do you know that among women worldwide, breast cancer is the most common cause of cancer death? Do you know that the number of breast cancer cases has significantly increased since the 1970s? Do you know that by the end of 2007, approximately 40,910 people will die as a result of breast cancer in the USA alone? This month is Breast Cancer Awareness month and even though October is nearly over, it’s still something worth talking about. The best way to fight a
disease is to learn about it. Being aware of breast cancer’s symptoms and dangers can result in an early diagnosis and eventually save someone’s life. For critical information regarding breast cancer, I advise you to read breastcancer.org. The international symbol of the struggle against breast cancer is the famous pink ribbon, so I decided to show my support with a few items that are pinkier than pink. Ester Shahaf’s Light Pink Hamsa Hand made of pewter is a pink antidote against the evil eye, or this cute little Pink Baby Amulet for your precious newborn, an artistic Mezuzah in Pink to guard your home from any harm, a beautiful Pink Cross Necklace by artist Laly Cohen or a pair of Decorative Candle Holders in dark pink that will light up your room. Pink is not only a color. It’s a statement.
