Everybody knows that the mind has incredible potential which we’re not tapping into – yet few people use the tools available to stretch its abilities. Meditation is one of those tools. While many people turn to Yoga to fulfill this – Kabbalah too, offers a direct route to the soul.
Meditating on G-D’s name need not be an intense experience of seclusion and concentration. Everyone has the ability to place G-D’s name in his or her mind’s eye at all times. If you stare at one of G-D’s 72 names and then look away, you should be able to keep that name in your mind’s eye for a while.

Wearing various charms and amulets can help you keep it there for longer periods of time until you’re able to call it up at will and keep it there while you’re going the daily rigmarole. Then it becomes a constant meditation. The name becomes a constant reminder of G-D’s existence and also of His presence.
From this Kabbalistic practice it is plain to see that meditation isn’t necessarily an activity for a fixed period of time in a stationary place. It can be a mental focus which you might do anywhere for an hour, a day, or a minute.
