Yesterday I began describing the many opportunities in which wearing a hexagram jewel is a must. I mentioned the Hebrew culture, the ancient Egyptian pyramids, and the Goth scene. Today I want to continue with three more practical examples:
4. India — this majestic land, home to both Hinduism and Buddhism, and a culinary empire. The hexagram is known in India for thousands of years. In the Hindu tales, the hexagram represents the Tantric union between Shiva (the god of destruction) and Shakti (the power of the Divine Mother — which can be compared to the Holy Spirit). It is also used while meditating, especially when one is chanting the AUM mantra. Finally, as can be seen in the side picture, hexagram is used in the green symbol which depicts the Heart Chakra. So if you’ve decided to join a Yoga class and to work on those abs, a miniature Heart Chakra necklace is the best way to impress your new instructor.
5. The ancient Greeks were great philosophers, and the founders of Western science. The Pythagoreans were a secret Greek society founded by Pythagoras, the talented mathematician. They had used the hexagram as a covert symbol to identify themselves to each other while traveling the ancient world. They worshiped aesthetics, symmetry, and geometry — and as such, the hexagram was found to be the unification of all three. Now, today’s Greek parties have nothing to do with hexagrams, but if you’re a secret agent, Nikita - style, and you want your informer to spot you within a crowded street, I suggest you do it subtly. Wear a pair of earrings with the hexagram symbol. It’s stylish, noticeable, and yet small enough not to draw Dr. No’s attention.
6. You’ve been abducted by aliens. Well, it happens. Don’t panic. Apparently, these slimy green creatures have good style, and they tend to plough very fancy crop formations. One of their favorite shapes is the hexagram, and if you carry one with you, you’re more likely to avoid their nasty procedures. However, I’d think twice before telling other people of such an experience.
Take care! ![]()
