Israeli singer Shiri Maimon is set to make history as the first Israeli performer to appear on stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards, taking place in Liverpool this year, on November 6th.

Shiri paved her way to stardom through the Israeli version of American Idol, “A Star is Born“. She attained the second place in the first season of this show back in 2003, losing the first spot to the magnificent Ninet Tayeb.

In 2005 Shiri defeated all other Israeli contenders and was chosen to represent Israel in the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. The contest took place Kiev that year, and Shiri made it all the way to the 4th position. Check out how amazing she looked on stage in Kiev:

This November 6th she will competing in the category of European Best Act. Whether she wins or not, she’s already won Europe’s hottest singer in my book.
