New Year’s on a Budget

December 20th, 2011 · No Comments · Holiday Gifts

New Year’s Eve is one of the biggest nights to go out in the year. For this reason alone, clubs, bars and restaurants have a way of increasing the price of food and drinks. If you would like to go out for New Year’s but you don’t want to go into the red, there are a lot of great ways to save your cash. Your New Year’s Eve experience can be just as much fun while you save money. Here are a few tips to get you started.

Make Reservations Early

Making a reservation for New Year’s Eve is a great way to save money. Many restaurants will charge a fee for getting a table without a reservation on New Year’s Eve. If you’re planning on having dinner at a restaurant, call them at least a week early to make sure that they still have tables open. Ask them about the pricing so you know that you can afford the food. Most restaurants have their menus and pricing available online.

Stay At One Place

New Year’s Eve is one night that people tend to go all out. Bar or club hopping and easily drain your bank account. Bars and clubs will have entrance fees that could exceed $20 or more on New Year’s Eve. You will probably have to pay this to get in, but you shouldn’t pay this two or three times throughout the night. Find a place that you know you are going to like and stay there to save money. Once you pay the entrance fee you might even get free drinks or a free appetizer.

One In One Packages

There are a lot of places around cities that offer all in one packages for New Year’s Eve. These packages include dinner, drinks and even entertainment. Look around your area for all in one packages at a place that you will like. These can cost anywhere from $20-40 but you won’t have to worry about spending any more than that. This can also help you set a budget for the night so you know exactly how much you have spent.

New Year’s Eve is a great night to cut loose with friends. But nobody wants to overspend. Follow these guidelines and you should have a great New Year’s Eve where you decide to go.
