How’s this for a hip celebrity granny up to date with the times: Elizabeth Taylor, now 77, is to undergo a new, innovative procedure to improve a leaky valve in her heart. In her words, it “involves repairing my leaky valve using a clip device.”
This is a sentence she tweeted to her 157,389 Twitter followers. She plans to inform them when the procedure is complete. “Any prayers you happen to have lying around I would dearly appreciate,” she wrote on Tuesday.
Taylor has been quite elusive these years, though since she joined Twitter in March, she’s been easier to spot on cyberspace. She was seen last publicly at Michael Jackson’s funeral.
Married a gazillion times (8, to be exact, to 7 different men. One of them she married twice.) and a grandmother at 39, we certainly wish her well. She now spends her time at the head of a foundation that raises money for AIDS research. And to her delight, I’m sure, there’s an AIDS vaccine currently in the works.
