Jewelry That Could Save a Life

medical jewelryBeing in the unfortunate position of becoming seriously injured in an accident or incapacitated by a heart seizure or other medical emergency can wind up as becoming fatal if a person happens to be allergic to some form of medication or life saving emergency treatment. Unfortunately, however, many people who should be wearing what are commonly known as “Medic Alert Tags” are embarrassed to do so, and even consider wearing one as a stigma or other form of being ‘singled out’ as being “different”.

It doesn’t have to be that way however, as there are now medical jewelry pieces that are not only attractive, being made in silver and gold; but which contain the vital information that could save a life by listing the correct and specific information that relates to a person’s individual medical condition. This is vitally important; whether it be dealing with allergies to medications, diabetes, pacemakers, epilepsy, or other medical problems.

The jewelry comes in a number of styles of bracelets, amulets and other types of jewelry, that are worn either on the wrist or on a chain about the neck (where attending medical personnel or other emergency personnel know where to look for such identification items).

Medical bracelets range in price from around $75, for silver ones, to around $450 for those made of gold. Tags which are worn about the neck on a chain cost less and can be had for prices ranging from $45 upwards. The jewelry can be custom engraved, and are durable enough to stay readable in adverse emergency conditions.

Concerned relatives of people who have medical conditions might well consider giving one of these life saving pieces of medical jewelry as gifts, as it could one day save the wearer’s life.
