Recently an erotic video surfaced, featuring former Miss California, Carrie Prejean. Prejean has spoken in defense of herself, claiming that the video which surfaced was not actually a “sex tape.” She said, “It was me by myself. There was no one else with me. I was not having sex.”
Prejean admitted to making the video of herself, which she sent to her boyfriend, back when she was 17-years-old. The tape surfaced during a session of negotiations with the Miss California pageant officials, concerning a lawsuit which the former Miss California filed against them, after she was stripped of her crown earlier this year. Now that the tape surfaced, Prejean dropped her lawsuit and settled with the officials, who payed her $100,000 to go toward her legal expenses.
An embarrassed Prejean had this to say:
“You can call it whatever you want to call it. If you want to call it a sex tape, that’s fine. I sent it to my boyfriend at the time. I was a teenager. I cared about him. I trusted him. I think now they call it ‘sexting.’ Did I think it would come back now and haunt me? No. But I think that a lot of young people can learn from this. Nothing is private anymore…It was the biggest mistake of my life.”
On April 19, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton asked her opinion of same-sex marriage. Prejean explained her Christian beliefs and said that she believes that marriage should be between a man and a woman. Hilton later responded by calling her a “dumb b—h.”
Prejean ended up finishing second in the pageant; she said she was being punished for exercising her right to free speech. She also cited the same enemies when racy photos of her later emerged: one which showed her dressed in just panties with her back to the camera, and another one showing her bare breasts.
