Remember when rapper Chris Brown was arrested for beating his girlfriend Rihanna? Well, two days ago, Brown was sentenced. He’s getting five years probation and 1,400 hours of community service. That’s way more than you need to do in order to get into the Honor’s Society even. Hoo hoo.
Word is spreading that there were two other incidents of domestic violence by Brown before the reported fight that got him arrested. According to one investigator,
“The defendant [Brown] and the victim [Rihanna] were visiting Barbados and were driving a Range Rover loaned to them by a local dealership,” the investigator wrote. “They had an argument inside the car. The defendant [Brown] exited and broke the front driver and passenger side windows of the car.”
This kid has got serious anger management problems. And that’s the thing – he’s just a kid, having only 2 months ago crossed the barrier of being a teenager. She’s barely a year older than him, and the two don’t seem to have any sense of maturity, she forgiving him way too quickly. Talent and looks, sure. Tact and level-headedness, certainly not.
The judge also imposed a restraining order on Brown, who must now stay 50 yards away from Rihanna, and 10 yards if the two are at the same industry event. The order remains in place until 2014.
If Rihanna wants the order modified she must personally appear in court to request it. Something tells me she will, because she’s a kid and doesn’t know any better, but let’s hope her head overcomes her wounded heart this time.
To give you an idea about why this woman should stay the heck away from Brown, the abuse that led to his arrest included punching her numerous times, putting her in a head lock, restricting her breathing until she began to lose consciousness, threats to beat her and kill her, and biting her ear and her fingers. Rihanna managed to scream, somebody heard it and called 911, and the rest is history.
