It is a sad farewell to a talented young actress. Brittany Murphy, who acquired fame in such films as, “Girl Interrupted”, “8 Mile”, “Clueless” and “Just Married” was found unconscious at her home in Los Angeles on Sunday morning.
She was pronounced dead at about 10 a.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She was taken there after the Fire Department responded to a call at 8 a.m. at her Hollywood Hills home, which she shared with the British screenwriter Simon Monjack.
It seems as though she collapsed in the bathroom, and authorities are still looking into her medical history. There can be no official cause of death determined, until a toxicology test and autopsy is performed, but it appears that the cause of death was natural.
The talented actress was born on Nov. 10, 1977, in Atlanta, Georgia and moved with her mother to Los Angeles to pursue her film career.
She is still due to appear in Sylvester Stallone’s upcoming film, “The Expendables,” set for release next year.
Murphy formerly dated Ashton Kutcher, who sent a message on Twitter Sunday morning about Murphy’s death:
“2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine…My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany’s family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon.”
