Today’s gift idea is inspired by terrorist paranoia, but perhaps we can capitalize on the sentiment and make our days a little brighter in the face of weird people. Hamas, the Palestinian group currently in charge of the Gaza Strip, has accused the Israel Defense Forces of corrupting their youth by distributing libido-enhancing chewing gum throughout the territory.
No picture of the gum has been found, and as Israel and Hamas currently have no diplomatic relations in addition to the fact that the claim is not something that security forces are trained to respond to, the IDF declined to comment in the case. This is regrettable, as it could have made for some good material. However, one unnamed military source was quoted as saying the claims were, and we quote, “absurd.” Unable to hold his tongue on the issue, this seems to be another huge setback for the Mideast peace process.
