A Fish Amulet for the Fertile

If you are of the fiery orange and red personality, particularly if you are a redhead, this one might be a good match for you. This Red and Orange Fish Charm for Handbags combines like colors for a real standout ornament on your handbag. It can also be used as a keychain.

orange fish charmThe two amulets included in this piece are the Fish amulets and the Hamsa Hand amulet. Both have Biblical origins, the former more so than the latter, but together, what they both symbolize complement each other rather well.

The fish, its symbolic origins coming from the book of Genesis as both the first animal mankind is commanded to “rule over” as well as the animal mentioned as fertile by Jacob, is a clear Biblical symbol of fertility, reproduction, and life. If mankind can rule over the fish in their myriads and multiplying ways, especially when they don’t even live on land and man must build machines to go catch them, then they can surely rule over anything.

Fish are also mentioned as being impervious to the evil eye, which is a term for envy. Though I am unsure what idea this represents, I have a feeling that it has something to do with the fact that they swim in schools and don’t have any noticeable familial structure. That way, there are no clans, no jealousy, and no envy.

If we are to think about it evolutionarily, life began in Earth’s oceans. Fish are Earth’s first complex life forms, and therefore the reproduction of life began in the oceans as well.

Put it together with the Hamsa, which symbolizes protection and control, and you have a recipe for a confluence of ideas for continuance and stability in life.

Though just as the fish must be caught with difficulty, so does catching stability in life. The amulet will help you keep focus on the qualities required for such a mission.

Together with that explanation, this would be a thoughtful gift for anyone going through radical life change, or having a baby.
